The Overland Guide Association is a group of like minded individuals who work professionally as Overland Guides or are involved in the industry through training or research.

We believe that by working together we are able to improve our industry, promote Good Practice and set standards that will improve safety and professionalism.

The OGA was founded in 2019 after several years of work by its members providing training and technical advice within the industry. 

For many years the idea of a trade association was discussed. It has now happened and we hope to help our industry grow and mature.

The team are made up of a core group of experienced people with backgrounds in the outdoor activity industries, with additonal input from some of the UK leading tour operators and motorcycle adventure businesses..  some of the people you may encounter, include, but aren’t limited to:

JP Dixon

A background in team management and outdoor pursuits. JP has worked as technical advisor, a teacher, a coach and has provided many expeditions with his support.

34 Years experience as a commercial guide.

Has ridden for work and leisure in Africa and India and extensively across Europe.

MIRA, WEMS, FREC4, EAT3, MIAS

Completed the entire UK TET multiple times. 

 Kelvyn Skee

Brings years of experience as a commercial motorcycle guide, with experience travelling across Eastern Europe, and parts of Africa,  Asia & Himalayas.

Guiding and training those on two wheels, as well as three, working with the Sidecar Guys.

Qualfiied Mountain Bike Instructor & Leader.

First Responder Emergency Care Level 4, EAT3, MIAS MTB Leader

Completed the Nijmegen March.

Gary Wrench

Gary is certified as a Commercial Guide (2 Wheels) and he has twenty years experience of Overland Adventure on 4 wheels. Gary has many skills and his expertise in the Audio Visual industry and media is enabling the OGA to progress in the modern world. Gary has a professional background in engineering and can adapt that problem solving to the Guiding world with ease

Dr. Sarah Palfreyman

The Medical Director for the OGA

A trail riding expedition medic. Her day job is an NHS Anaesthetist with special interest in Trauma and Medical Education. Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge including Advanced Procedures & Infectious diseases.

Has worked for Doctors Without Borders, as a Ski Mountain Medic in New Zealand & as an EMT in Canada.
